The Web is the Platform, Helping Webmakers and more…
about:mozilla is a weekly round-up of news and contribution opportunities. Here’s what’s happening this week.
The Web is the Platform
It’s been an exciting two days at MWC 2012. Among all the news, we previewed our Boot to Gecko project which will allow mobile devices to be powered by HTML5! If you would like to help us build this next generation of mobile phones – built entirely on the Web – please join #developers or #b2g on IRC or check out our wiki page. More background information is available at Mozilla Hacks.
Helping Webmakers

Mark Surman discusses why we need to focus on building our own making and learning tools and on helping out others who are teaching Web making. If your an educator and would like to run a Hack event where you are please get in touch by leaving a comment on Mark’s blog.
Firefox Flicks almost open
The Firefox Flicks submission site will open shortly and run until May 1, 2012. The winning flick will be seen by Hollywood judges or potentially used in an international Mozilla marketing campaign. If you’re not an aspiring film maker, here’s how you can help. In the meantime, please have a look at our Firefox Flicks teaser video!
Introducing Mozilla Persona
BrowserID, our distributed Identity system, will be going under the name of Mozilla Persona. If you have any questions about the name change or would like to get involved you can reach us on our mailing list.
