about:mozilla is a weekly round-up of news and contribution opportunities. Here’s what’s happening this week.

Three billion add-on downloads
We’re excited to announce that we just crossed more than 3 billion downloads of Firefox add-ons. That’s almost half of the world’s population and more than the number of people on the Internet today. Learn more by checking out the Getting to Know Add-ons infographic and the list of the top eight most used add-ons.

Firefox in your language

Watch community members from around the world speaking about Firefox in their own language. This footage was taken at the Mozilla Summit in 2010 and celebrates the global spirit of our community.

One Mozilla Style Guide
John Slater introduces a draft of the One Mozilla Style Guide that’s under development. This will help all Mozillians tell our story consistently and effectively at every opportunity. Please take a look and let us know what’s working, what’s not working, what might need more explanation and what’s missing altogether.

FoxIE web standards training videos
About a month ago Chris Heilmann of Mozilla went to Miami, Florida to shoot a series of training videos with Rey Bango of Microsoft. Now these videos are available on Microsoft’s Channel9 as the FoxIE training series. Learn more about how these were made, where to view them and where to download slides of these talks to present them yourself.

Mentoring a large first bug
Creating website shortcuts with favicons was a Platform Integration task that has been pending development for almost a decade. Thanks to a new contributor named Parth Mudgal, they’re now live on Nightly builds. Read about Parth’s experience and Brian Bondy’s thoughts on being a mentor for this work.
