Judging Panel

  • Ken Saunders | Mozilla Contributor

  • Courtney Charet | Mozilla Contributor

Courtney has been a Persona designer and reviewer for over a year. Her Personas adorn the browsers of hundreds of thousands of Firefox users, who love her sparkly, flowing designs.

  • Jorge Villalobos | Add-ons Developer Relations Lead

no script and add block plus are the best with out a doubt, no adds ever should be a option but then Mozilla would make no money

    Hi,

I’m using a great number of PC’s during a typical day, so it makes sense for me to use the following addons:
    – Ad Block: clean, fast, clutter free web browsing. Best thing since the internet&firefox where invented.
    – Xmarks – i use this to keep my extensive bookmark collection synched across all PCs. I delete and add bookmarks like crazy, all day long.
    – Last Pass – it’s hard to remember my user/passwords from all accounts, given the fact that i have over 200 of them all across the net…
I also use some form of flash-downloader to scoop stuff from the internet. This is not a add-on, it’s built into Firefox itself but it’s absolutely awesome: spell checker – I do have a very rich digital life and the obvious language for that life is undoubtedly English. Given that and the fact that I’m not a natively English speaker, i need “walking sticks” to help me make some sense when writing in English. The Firefox spell-checker is just that great set of walking sticks.

So basically these are all great, simple and focused addons that to a great deal.

Great many thanks for the Firefox and Firefox add-on developers. You are doing a great job, and we notice!

    Have a good day.

    FIREBUG… its a life saver.

Just imagine the agony of a web-designer when at 6 in the evening his boss walks upto him and says.. the design he had worked so hard for a month ‘lacks tang’.. open firebug add few colors on the runtime and wollah!! you have a tangy design APPROVED.

Imagine the agony of a coder who writes code and the ajax call is misfiring.. the way to debug it.. add painful alerts, and on a live environment not doable.. but here come the superhero (a.k.a Firebug) open net, see xhr edit and fix script runtime.

And its performance is way better than other browser plugins

It also helps me do some ‘nasty’ stuff to ‘not so secure’ sites and my ‘not so geeky’ friends call me magician ;)

  9. David

Turn Off the Lights and Download statusbar.

  10. Dharini

Video DownloadHelper addon is very useful to download any videos with in fraction of minutes. This helps me a lot to download my favourite videos from mozilla browser and enjoy any time. This feature is highly useful to any one using Mozilla browser.

  11. Debasish

    Personas is the best……………

  12. Stefano

I think the best plugin so far is firebug. Firebug gives you the possibility to find out js errors, test out some css/html, debug and a lot of other useful things that are amazing. But in the other side the new inspect item, that is native provided with firefox, is really effecient, and it’s what im using right now. Firefox+firebug is the way to follow for any web developer.

  13. sandip

Fire bug is most useful add on of firefox for developers , it helped me to wrote complex java scripts by debugging and identifying problems very easily

  14. Karri Huikuri

The best 1 is Adblock Plus. I’m usually using slow connect so i don’t need to wait when adds are loading.

  15. HAJAR SAWABAN

Hi! For me my favorite add-on is FACEBOOK because it helps me faster to review my notifications in my account without browsing into my facebook home signing in. thanks firefox and keep up the good work!:-)

    1. Olivier

      Well Hajar,
it exist actually an app. that can be installed directly on your desktop menu bar,
(at least for Mac) so called Menu Tap Pro from Fiplab ltd.
So once you click over its little icon on the top menu bar of the system,
It pops-up a window sized as a mobile screen, to view your FB activities and more.
at the Top corner right of this icon, indicates in Red Messages in standby.
and the icon itself blinks to inform you about some other activities.
All FB concentrate in a single icon.
      it works.
But may be you do not have a Mac. (I do not know if the app is for PC too)

In deed i did not remember number of times i have worked on a lengthy text or review comments and making a mistake to press on a wrong button or key or anything and loss the entire work completely without getting them back.In fact, the add-on makes the problems of loosing works or texts a thing of the past. It is indeed the greatest invention for me and works faster and flawlessly.

  37. Mariusz

For me the best add-on is Ad-Blocker. I cannot stand ads popping into my face and being around articles I’m reading. Keep Firefox fast and work on ”not responding’ issue (unless it’s Windows 8 customer preview causing that).

  38. Hani

Firefox has always been my favorite and continues to be..
The addon I use the most is definitely ImgLikeOpera. It really helps me to make my allowed 5GB last for the complete month. Images are the data eaters and it they get disabled easily, I can save a plenty of data.

ProxTube – Just a simple and amazing Add-On!
It’s helpful day for day, I couldn’t surf on YouTube without it anymore.
It was nasty and much effort to always change the proxy yourself, with this tool it’s simple and done in not even 1 minute!

  45. Haitham

Add block Plus i don’t need to wait when adds are loading
    Thank you very much.

  46. Stephen Noe

There are so many great add-on’s, I FOUND IT DIFFICULT TO CHOOSE JUST ONE. So I would suggest the best add-on has to be the Yahoo toolbar bacause it brings other appts available with just one click. Whether it be facebook, ebay, mail, translations, notes, calendar, address book, the weather or finacial outlook, it is all there at the top of Mozilla web browser.
The toolbar facilitates ease of use, immediate identification of the program one needs and the possibility of syncing the toolbar and appts across other computers, whatever the operating system; be it Linux, Microsoft or Mac.
Adding an Appt is simplicity itself, or if you wish to be more adventures you can add your own appt from a link.
So in summary, the Yahoo toolbar add-on helps one work more speedily, productively, brings together a whole world of appts, which are targeted at what you need specificly. It makes working with Firefox a joy, no matter if your at work, at your home PC or Tablet. I do not know of another add-on that does more.

  47. Ravi Dahiya
