Tell us about your favorite add-ons for a chance to win one of three Android tablets!

Update: The winners have been chosen!

In 200 words or less, tell us how your favorite Firefox Add-on makes your day more productive, saves you money, or just makes you happy. A special panel of judges will pick 10 finalists, and the AMO community will pick 3 winners. Each winner will receive an Android tablet and be featured on the addons.mozilla.org homepage!

Contest period: April 24, 2012 – June 24, 2012

How to Enter

To enter the contest:

  1. Write a review of your favorite add-on at https://addons.mozilla.org
  2. Send us a link to it using this form

To get the link to your review, click on “permalink” above your review and copy the URL:

Winner Selection

10 finalists will be selected by a panel of judges on or about July 4, 2012. The community will then select the final three winners based on the following criteria:

  • Is your story compelling?
  • How creative is your use of your favorite add-on?
  • Does your review capture the “spirit” of the AMO community?

Voting will end on or about July 18, 2012, and the winners will be announced on or about August 1, 2012.

Judging Panel

  • Ken Saunders | Mozilla Contributor

Ken has been volunteering for Mozilla since 2005 and is the creator and project manager of Access Firefox. He’s also an Add-ons developer, Mozilla Accessibility steward, and a self-proclaimed add-ons junkie, with 56 add-ons enabled (68 installed).

  • Courtney Charet | Mozilla Contributor

Courtney has been a Persona designer and reviewer for over a year. Her Personas adorn the browsers of hundreds of thousands of Firefox users, who love her sparkly, flowing designs.

  • Jorge Villalobos | Add-ons Developer Relations Lead

Jorge is the Add-ons Developer Relations Lead at Mozilla. He manages the add-ons review team, add-on compatibility, and documentation. You’ll usually find him in his native Costa Rica, glued to his laptop and avoiding sunlight.

  • Matej Novak | Mozilla Scribe

Matej is Mozilla’s resident copywriter and all-around word guy. When he’s not working on a website or campaign, you’ll likely find him in a spirited debate about some obscure point of grammar or style—either with someone else or himself.

Prizes

Three winners will each receive:

  • One Android tablet
  • AMO homepage feature that includes your name, photo, and story

Fine Print

  • Up to 3 entries per person per account
  • Open worldwide
  • Entry must be written in English
  • Add-on must be compatible with latest desktop version of Firefox at the time of judging
  • AMO-hosted add-ons only
  • Ok to use a previously written review, or edit an existing review. Does not have to be new.

I love two addons: Forecastfox weather & Tab Scope. I really can’t live without them since I’ve found them here. It’s so cool to change the weather icons/add unlimited locations you’ve visited and switch between them in seconds in the first add and see what’s loading on the next page in the last one addon (surely, I always use it to enlarge the page’s thumbnails without opening them). Gosh! That’s also an amazing feature to change your themes or interface as easy as you breathe or surf the Web with the help on different themes. I love all the addons I utilize. They are very helpful and simple to use.

    Hello,

I could not stress enough how much I love Firebug. It could come as a surprise for some that I have chosen Firebug amongst all fun Add-ons there are, but despite Firefox being my Web Browser of choice for day to day browsing, it is also one of my favourite Tools at work.

I’m a Web Developer and I could not see myself doing my job without it. Firebug makes my life so much easier and my work so much enjoyable.

So that’s it – Firebug it is 🙂

    Go on Firefox Team… I’m a big fan!!! 🙂

To listen to a lot of serbian radio stations takes me to a very old time, many years ago and helps me inproving my low-rated knowledge of the serbian language. A real nice application for those who are living abroad but are homesick or just trying to improve their language abilities in serbian!

My favorite ‘Add-On’ is the ‘Side Bar.’ One icon lists all the downloaded ‘extensions.’ Above this
list are tabs for ‘themes’ and ‘plug-ins.’
Within the feature there is a button to check all extensions for latest [ updates ] version of
    extensions.
The ‘Side Bar’ can also be hidden until needed, by moving the cursor /mouse to the left edge of
screen. Or the user can lock the ‘Side Bar’ to view constantly.

My favorite add-on among all of the add-ons I installed on my browser was the Cheevos , it is because it makes me entertained even though their is no musics and videos or else. It is like a point card that everytime I access my favorite websites( including mozilla.org for more add-ons) I can get points and achievements. That’s why I love Cheevos.

    More power MOZILLA!!!

Unfortunately I am a newbie to computers but I love the music on lastfm. You can get the type of music you personally enjoy from any era which is a joy without comment or censor. I happen to enjoy the music from Broadway especially the era of the big musicals from the 1930’s to the 1960’s.
