One highlight for me was meeting our European AMO editors in person. We had an informal meetup Friday evening before the welcome festivities at an Irish Pub, where we chatted and caught up over beers (which took a while to order because nobody spoke Polish except Teo). Nils, winner of our New Year’s Challenge joined us, as did Giorgio, Andreas, Teo, Kris, and Andrew. Brian, Axel, and Kent had other MozCamp commitments and couldn’t make it, but we all managed to find each other and catch up during the course of the weekend.

I am possibly biased, but to me AMO editors are unsung heroes. There have been more than 3 billion downloads of add-ons on AMO, and it’s the editors who are at the front line, tirelessly ensuring they are safe to use.

When people write add-ons for Firefox and ask questions about their submissions, a real-life editor answers; and chances are, that editor is a volunteer contributor.

So join us, be a part of a project where people believe in the impact of their contributions, no matter how small or tedious. And maybe we’ll have a beer together, somewhere in the world.

• If you’re an Add-on author with add-ons on AMO that have been packed with SDK versions lower than SDK 1.6.1, please re-pack and re-submit your add-ons!
• We rolled SDK 1.8rc1 for testing today, and would love it if you could give it a spin, kick the tires, etc.
• Last week’s add-ons group meetup went really well and included talks by Andrew Williamson and Jorge Villalobos on AMO / review policies, a Marketplace update from Justin Scott and a demo of Cheevos by Firefox Engineer Jared Wein.

• Edward Lee released his splendid ‘Copy Selected‘ add-on, based on the SDK, complete with source available on gihub.
• Irakli created pages on the Gitub wiki for some new proposed changes to the SDK including re-usable Content Scripts, Disposables and Collections.
• SDK Developer Matteo Feretti delivered a talk on web hacking at JSDay in Verona a week or so ago, and I just noticed his slides have been posted online.

• Jetpack contributor Hernán Colmeiro gave not 1, not 2 but 3 talks in Buenos Aires and Santiago last week on the SDK: “Add-on SDK, what is it? How do I help?“
• Irakli got hacking at the Firefox work week in Toronto this week and added SDK support to Firefox’s Scratchpad editor via his ‘Scratch-kit’ add-on.
• Alex landed HTML localization, paving the way for developers and localizers to start fully localizing SDK-based add-ons!
• Irakli posted his ‘Spring Cleaning’ list of things to address in the SDK in order to move forward with project plans. If you’re a module developer, please read over these and provide feedback in the mailing list as there are some changes that may break your code.
• Some unsolicited praise from Mario Scheliga on twitter brightened up everyone’s week.

• Alex recently created the locale-updater extension to aid in localizing SDK-based add-ons, and longtime l10n contributor Jean-Bernard Marcon blogged about the workflow for localizing SDK-based add-ons using Alex’s add-on over on the Babelzilla blog.
• I wrote up a quick review of dotjs, an SDK-based add-on by Mozilla webdev Ricky Rosario that makes browser hacking that much easier.
• This week SDK contributor Hernan Colmeiro will be giving not 1 but 2 talks on the SDK, first at the MDN Hack Day in Buenos Aires on Friday and then at Mozcamp on the weekend.
