Windows Mobile Update 3: Fonts
10.11.08 - 12:12pm
I found (and fixed) one of our bugs in the Windows Mobile font code. This makes things much better
88/100, not bad
Also note that I’m running this on an actual device, using Remote Zoomin to get the screen shot.

Are there any binary builds I would run on my device available (I dont have visual studio so I cant build it myself)
Is there a binary available for download?
How does Fennec doing RTL? I remember that Minimo has no bidi support at all.
Dying for a binary build
Thanks for the great tips. Can you please post the user agent string this devices reports itself as? Very curious if Mobile Firefox appears in the UA, etc.
Well, someone’s going to say it eventually; might as well be me.
Please consider building against the Windows CE 4.2 core as well; this would make it accessible to CE.NET devices (e.g. MobilePro 900c, Sigmarion) as well as PPC2003/PPC2003SE devices.
(And yes, I’ll volunteer to help the porting effort if that’s what it takes. You can reach me via the e-mail address used for this post.)
Any more update of Fennec on Windows Mobile? When can be expect a binary build, and will Fennec Alpha 1 support Windows Mobile?
Hi, I was trying to build Fennec from the repository, and some hours later I did (patching all those “#include “, paths misconfigurations, resource compilation for updater etc. got quite a bit of time).
But it just won’t run. On my device Fennec fails on LoadLibraryExW for xul.dll (with error “Invalid parameter”, though it detected the path correctly), and then displays “Couldn’t load XPCOM”. What could I do wrong?
88/100 is really good. So keep at it!
Great news to see some progress again. You guys had IE as a competitor on Desktop but when it comes to Windows Mobile browsing, forget IE, Opera is there! Hope you guys could compete them

+1 to what Todd Vierling said: please consider building for Windows Mobile 2003 / CE 4.2 too.
Wm2003 users have been left in the dust by recent browsers, with very few alternatives to the crappy internet explorer included, although there are wm2003 devices out there with lots of ram and a decent processor.
So please MTV, pimp my — er, please mozilla, pimp my pocketpc
agree 88/100 is good
It is nice to see that “Firefox for Mobile” is in progress. I think it is time to build and install firefox on my mobile and see how does it work.
thank you
Great!
I can download and install your version on my ppc?
yes, I’d like a binary too; willing to “sacrifice” my Samsung SGH-i907 Epix PDA-phone (Marvell PXA311 624 Mhz, 128 MB SDRAM, WinMobile Pro 6.1, 320×320 screen) for alpha & beta-testing.
i can be reached at totesende[deletethisandthebrackets]2003@hotmail.com if somebody is interested. the email in the name-link is a spam-filter, ergo invalid.
cheers

nice
Hey, I noticed that on the Wikipedia page for Acid3, someone listed Fennec as having a 93/100, this isn’t their fault as they are testing it on a desktop, but could you update it so it reflects the correct score?

Thank you,

@HalosGhost (Sam) The 88/100 you see here is from an early port of Fennec to Window Mobile. Many things were known to be broken at the time (and several still are, we haven’t hit alpha yet on the platform).
