[August 12, 2008] Lightning/Sunbird Status Update

We’re getting nearer and nearer to our first 0.9 release candidate. With 34 bugs fixed in the last two weeks, many of them release blockers, we’re now down to only 18 release blockers at the time of writing. 10 of those 18 bugs currently still need a patch, so if anyone of our readers wants to help out, now would be a great time.

On the localization front, 30 of our 33 are ready for the release (hopefully Macedonian, Slovenian and Turkish will still be able to make it), so we’ll likely be in better shape l10n-wise than we were during the time of the 0.8 release.

For anyone interested, here are the 34 bugs fixed within in the last two weeks:

  1. I cannot wait for next realease. I use Sunbird for a few months and I love it! It’s very useful and I hope next realease will be better :)

  2. Hello,
Sorry, I know this isn’t the correct place to post it but I don’t know where to.
Anyway, lightning now cause thunderbird to fail to start (actually it locks my cpu at 50%). It seems to start after I created a recurring event for the next 50 years or so. I have tried uninstalling lightning, latest nightlies. Nor can I find the calendar files themselves for a manual delete(searched both sdb and ics).
Any help getting lightning back up and running, even if I lose my old calendars, would be much appreciated.
    Cheers,

  4. I can’t see Bug 199732 fixed, it behaves exactly like before. No visible changes here.

  5. @Lucca: In multiweek and month view there should be arrows like or -> on events that span multiple days instead of showing the start time on each day. But there still will be a separate event box for each day. Day view, week view and all day events were not changed because they did not show the misbehavior.

  6. I don’t see any arrow or even the start time, nor in month view neither in multiweek view. I use default theme and latest lighting nightly.
