Thunderbird and Lightning/calendar bugday³

Hello Thunderbird and Lightning/Calendar enthusiasts. We need your help! Help us to make the next “big release” of Thunderbird, Thunderbird 24, the best release ever.

On June 12 skilled help will be available via online chat to assist you, for as little or as long as you like, in doing the following:

  • Help other users by checking their bug reports to see if you can reproduce the behavior of their reported problem
  • Get advice about your own bug report
  • Help users in the support forum to see if a user’s problem needs a bug report

No coding or special skills are required. And you don’t need to be an expert or long term user of Thunderbird or Lightning.  You simply need to be using Thunderbird to help other Thunderbird users. Or a a user of Lightning to help with calendar issue.

Just a little bit of your time will contribute to making Thunderbird and/or Lightning better for yourself and for others. Please see the details at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:QA_TestDay:2013-06-12

We look forward to having your help , and seeing you online in the chat area.

Sincerely,
The Thunderbird QA Team

  1. hi, I’ve reinstalled thunderbird without previous export of my Tasks from Lightning. This is sooo important to me. How can I bring them back guys. The only backup I did is the folder Thunderbird saved from user Library. I also have backup copy on my TimeMachine if it helps.

Are you getting an error message? The tasks should still be in your profile folder. To make the calendars reappear, copy in the calendar-data folder and copy all calendar.registry.* lines from the prefs.js in the root folder of your profile backup.

Be sure to make backups of the new profile folder in case you’ve made changes already.

      • Thx for taking chance of helping me. Yes, I did have some errors trying to copy Thunderbird folder to new Thunderbird. Some files couldn’t be copied because they “were in use”. So I’ve copied not all of them. I guess the issue is right there. Right now I wanted to open prefs.js but I can’t. The information I get is “the file is in use – you need to stop using it before open” or something like that. So is there a way to open/copy it?

      • Are you still there Philipp?
