The main benefit is that you can reference a piece of content. This allows you to email video to a friend, bookmark or queue the video, send it to another device, etc.

Especially since wikipedia is all Ogg Theora, but there is no H.264-only video site I know of.

Can we please stop the propaganda and wake up to the reality that not supporting anything by Ogg is a recipe for failure?
