my evil eye
May 11th, 2011 by rstrong
I got a chalazion about a month and a half ago which has repeatedly gotten better and then worse. They look fairly innocuous but they can leak infection into the eye and in my case it feels like acid. I have an appointment to get it fixed tomorrow during which I get to wear one of those fashionable eye clamps from a clockwork orange. I’m just glad I finally found a doctor that will take care of it instead of repeating, “it will get better”.

Don’t worry, you’ll always be evil to us.
Also, I hope your doctor has a rehabilitation pony to make things go better.
Let the record show that working on updater code causes chalazions! Guess it’s time to find a new sucker….errr owner
Aiyee! Thanks for making me grateful to only have blepharitis. A month ago I thought eyelids were sheets of skin ending in eyelashes, who knew they’re packed with Meibomian glands, Zeis glands, glands of Moll, and “90 different proteins have been identified in meibomian gland secretions”. So much bioengineering encoded in only 3 billion base pairs and only 23,000 protein-coding genes, it’s ridiculously mindblowing. Good luck at the Dr.
I have a chalazion as well, but it hasn’t been getting better. My doctor gave me one of those Chloramphenicol eye drops, but they never worked.
Hi Josh, I’ve had a couple over the years and the first one (around 10 years ago) I had emergency surgery to have it removed due to it being very badly infected. If a chalazion isn’t treated early it can turn into scar tissue and leave a bump and if it does nothing will remove it besides either time or surgery. I’ve had one that had turned into scar tissue that was affecting my vision so I opted to have it surgically removed.
Justin, only if it is an evil rehabilitation pony!
