Traces of a new AMO

There have been reported sightings of the newly rewritten AMO homepage and add-on details page in the wild since yesterday afternoon. There’s a 15% chance you may encounter these pages during your add-on explorations. The most obvious ways to identify the new Django-powered pages are by the awesome install buttons and a Popular Tags module in place of the Most Shared Add-ons block.

Comparison of Homepages

As these new pages adapt to their new environment, expect them to become braver and show themselves more often. If you have any problems, please let us know by searching and filing bugs.

We’re excited to have these new pages dark-launched and hope to have all public-facing pages up by the end of the quarter.

It’s funny to go back to Wil’s blog post from November and see all the comments grousing about nearly every aspect of the new AMO effort—from python to Django to git and everything in-between.

Having been through a few major rewrites of big sites, it looks to me like this has been going better than any I’ve seen before. I’m sure it’s not all been a walk in the park, but the team is spinning off new ways to work and code we can use between projects. Overall, I’d say the AMO team is rocking this.

I like the new buttons. They are better and fresh. The only thing I don’t like is the new tools button. Why do I have to click on the Tools button when there’s only one option? It was easier when it was just the Developer Hub text.

      Jivko,

This is a bug that we’ll fix soon. Thanks for letting us know.

I like the new “button style” too, but what does the conversionrate say after this “facelift”? Better or worse?

I think I am seeing the AMO and I have problems.
I have never before filed a BUG report but I have a Mozilla login for reviews. I went to AMO forum and when I tried new topic it said I had to register when I click the Here link it goes back to Add on search. Not sure why my Mozilla login it no good but I cannot get anywhere to register.

The problem I have is searching for Thunderbird Extensions ir should I say Addons? I have Thunderbird at top of page and enter a search then the results come up and they are all Firefox!!!
I tried TB only “extensions” like “Copy Sent to Current” and “Extra folder” comments and No Hits – obviously they are TB not FF.
Then I tried Reminderfox which is in both and all I got was the FF addon and some other FF items.

HELP PLEASE – how do I find TB extensions and not FF ones and how do I report a problem?
