New Contributions features

Riding along with AMO’s large Developer Tools update last Thursday were two new features to our Contributions program. It’s now possible for add-on developers to request that contributions be made to the Mozilla Foundation or another third party organization instead of to themselves.

Contributions can be set up in the new Manage Payments area of the Developer Tools, where developers can enter a PayPal account of their own, a PayPal account and name of a third-party organization (such as a charity), or select the Mozilla Foundation, a California non-profit organization.

The text displayed in the Contributions banners around AMO will update to reflect the recipient of the funds, as shown below.

Soliciting donations to the Mozilla Foundation has been one of the most requested features since the launch of Contributions, so we’re very happy to be able to provide it and help add-on developers and users support Mozilla’s mission even further.

    Awesome.
I remember this being discussed a while back.
I’m on my way to go enable it now.
