The integration of a user feedback service onto Firefox has been a major boon in delivering timely and helpful bug reports, praise for a job well done to the development and UX teams, user-experience insights, compatibility breakages, performance and stability clusters. <\/p>\n<p>What we&#8217;ve noticed is that users already send feedback <a href=\"http:\/\/input.mozilla.com\/en-US\/?product=firefox&#038;version=--&#038;date_start=&#038;date_end=&#038;q=adblock+plus\">via Firefox about these add-ons<\/a> using the &#8220;Submit Feedback&#8221; option in the Help Menu or via the Feedback button. They consider add-ons to be an integral part of the Firefox product experience. So, why not extend support to add-ons themselves within the Add-ons Manager? <\/p>\n<p>We have been <a href=\"http:\/\/aakash.doesthings.com\/2011\/08\/01\/alert-the-developer-extends-feedback-support-to-your-favorite-add-ons\/\">experimenting with opening up Input<\/a> to Add-on Developers and the reception from our users have been positive. So, what we would like to do is add feedback as a strict opt-in service for add-on developers via AMO. If an add-on author does opt-in to have feedback received for their add-on, the following will occur:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Praise\/Issues\/Idea feedback buttons will display within the detail-view of your installed add-on in the add-ons manager. To view what specifically will happen in Desktop Firefox, <a href=\"https:\/\/addons.mozilla.org\/en-US\/firefox\/addon\/alert-the-developer\/\">take a look at the Input team&#8217;s experimental add-on.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Feedback sent in via input.mozilla.com will be shown on the <a href=\"http:\/\/input.mozilla.com\">main Input dashboard for the specific version of Firefox.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Feedback received for your add-on will be shown in an easy-to-read format within the Developer Hub.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The team believes this will create a closer connection to add-on users and authors as well as help propel the development of add-ons.
