Today we’re proud to announce the start of the 2014 Knight-Mozilla OpenNews Fellow<\/a><\/strong> application process. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Knight-Mozilla OpenNews is looking for five developers and technologists to spend a year writing code in collaboration with reporters, designers, and developers in some of the best newsrooms in the world.<\/p>\n

This is the third year of the OpenNews program, a collaboration between the Knight Foundation<\/a> and Mozilla. Fellows spend 10 months focusing on writing code and solving problems in journalism while being embedded in a newsroom, afforded the chance to hack, present, and attend events around the world.<\/p>\n

    “We’re offering visionary coders, data geeks, civic hackers, engineers, and technologists the opportunity of a lifetime<\/strong>,” says Mozilla’s OpenNews Director, Dan Sinker<\/a>. “It’s 10 months to write open-source code with impact, travel the world, engage in dynamic communities, and create tools and projects that help the world learn more about itself.”<\/p>\n
