Mozilla is excited to announce the Mozilla Festival<\/a> (#MozFest) will return to Ravensbourne, a wired media and design campus in East London, from October 24th through 26th. Registration is now open: http:\/\/mzl.la\/Mozfestticket<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

MozFest is the birthplace of many of Mozilla’s best and most innovative ideas.\u00a0 Hundreds of passionate people\u2014journalists, coders, filmmakers, designers, educators, and gamers from all over the world\u2014will convene for three days of productive skill-sharing and collaboration. The\u00a0 Festival features interactive sessions designed to foster participation and learning, as well as dedicated time for hacking on ideas that emerge\u00a0 when hundreds of bright minds gather together in one space.<\/p>\n

Our aim this year is to showcase and develop best practices for community leadership. Individual sessions are organized under the following themes:<\/p>\n

Build and Teach the Web<\/strong>
\nKeep the web wild through hands-on making with innovative tools and teaching the web as a community.<\/p>\n

Open Web With Things<\/strong>
\nEscape the limitations of your computer and build the web using sensors, circuits and good old paper and scissors.<\/p>\n

Web in Your Pocket<\/strong>
\nExplore\u00a0 opportunities in the booming world of the open web on mobile. How can we experiment & tinker to customize our own experience on our phones?<\/p>\n

Source Code for Journalism<\/strong>
\nDesign next-generation web solutions to solve critical issues facing news organizations and help journalism thrive on the open web.<\/p>\n

Open Science and the Web<\/strong>
\nExamine the potential of the open web to re-define how we experiment, analyze and share scientific knowledge.<\/p>\n

Art and Culture of the Web<\/strong>
\nAn exploration of the programs, practices and inspirations of open and networked digital art forms.<\/p>\n

Open Badges Lab<\/strong>
\nChallenge the conventional system of recognizing skills and learning.\u00a0 Celebrate\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 achievements from Open Badge creators and issuers.<\/p>\n

Hive Learning Networks<\/strong>
\nJoin this lab for people working on building local city learning networks (Hives) and how they can better globally connect to share learning experiences for youth and digital media.<\/p>\n

Musicians and Music Creators on the Open Web<\/strong>
\nPlay a role and explore what it takes to make music on the open web.<\/p>\n

Build the Web We Want<\/strong>
\nProtecting and advancing the free and open web for everyone.<\/p>\n

Open Data<\/strong>
\nUncover the data on the web and in our world that will help us better inform and organize our communities.<\/p>\n
