{"id":351,"date":"2010-03-05T00:58:10","date_gmt":"2010-03-05T00:58:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mozillacalendar2.wordpress.com\/2010\/03\/05\/how_to_solve_incompatibility_p\/"},"modified":"2010-03-05T00:58:10","modified_gmt":"2010-03-05T00:58:10","slug":"how_to_solve_incompatibility_p","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/calendar\/2010\/03\/how_to_solve_incompatibility_p\/","title":{"rendered":"How to solve incompatibility problems when upgrading to Thunderbird 3.0.3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some of our users currently seem to experience problems with Lightning becoming incompatible when they update their Thunderbird installation to the 3.0.3 release.<\/p>\n<p>The reason for this seems to lie in the fact that those users use a Lightning nightly build and update it on a daily basis with the <a href=\"https:\/\/addons.mozilla.org\/en-US\/thunderbird\/addon\/4623\">Lightning Nightly Updater add-on<\/a> or manually update to the <a href=\"http:\/\/ftp.mozilla.org\/pub\/mozilla.org\/calendar\/lightning\/nightly\/latest-comm-1.9.1\/\">latest available nightly build<\/a>. But because we moved our Lightning nightly builds to only support the current Thunderbird 3.1 development builds, as <a href=\"http:\/\/weblogs.mozillazine.org\/calendar\/2010\/02\/lightning_builds_move_towards.html\">reported earlier<\/a>, this leads to the incompatibility.<\/p>\n<p>The solution is simple though:<br \/>\nJust uninstall your current nightly build and install the <a href=\"https:\/\/addons.mozilla.org\/en-US\/thunderbird\/addon\/2313\">Lightning 1.0 beta1 release<\/a>. This release is identical to the latest available Lightning nightly builds for Thunderbird 3, but fully compatible with the Thunderbird 3 release. And to be on the safe side: Please backup your <a href=\"http:\/\/kb.mozillazine.org\/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird\">profile folder<\/a>, before doing this!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some of our users currently seem to experience problems with Lightning becoming incompatible when they update their Thunderbird installation to the 3.0.3 release.
