We are committed to a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture and we are dedicated to making our workplace fully welcoming and supportive of a broad diversity of people.

Today, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) awarded Mozilla Corporation a score of 95 in its 2019 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). HRC is the largest U.S.-based lesbian, gay, transgender and queer civil rights organization and its mission is to “end discrimination against LGBTQ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.”

To extend HRC’s mission to the workplace, it established the CEI in 2002. The Index gathers data on policies, benefits, trainings, and more from a broad range of companies. And this year, Mozilla participated as an opportunity for us to demonstrate our commitment to workplace inclusion by having a neutral third-party assess our global efforts (we’ve also done this with Women in the Workplace).

We are proud of our participation to the CEI and of our score and, more importantly, we are proud of all the work that’s been done to make Mozilla a place where no one feels like an “only” and where everyone can be their “whole self”:

Our gender transition guidelines and policy supports our colleagues transitioning gender and have inspired others to ask for help as they consider implementing similar policies;

Our fully inclusive parental leave supports all parents of newborn children;

Most of our offices now have all-gender restrooms available;

Our Community Participation Guidelines and our work to remove meritocracy from our Guidelines foster inclusion and diversity among our community and inspire other open source projects;

Our colleagues have embraced the use of pronoun stickers at our All Hands meetings.

Even if we got a perfect score, the goal would never be to say we’re “done” but, rather, to keep our work transparent and accountable.

Diversity and Inclusion is central to our mission and to everything we do at Mozilla.
