The site is extending access and verification of vouched status on a per-Vouched-Mozillian basis. To use it, we&#8217;ve offered Vouched Mozillian Developers with <a href=\"https:\/\/mozillians.org\/user\/edit#services\">an API key<\/a> (accessible if you&#8217;re logged in to Mozillians.org and Vouched) as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/mozillians.org\/api\/v1\/vouched\/\">the methods available right now<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Hurray! What does this mean to the Mozilla community though? Well, here is a little context: <\/p>\n<p>There has been talk about how a Mozillian forum or a closed place to chatter would look like. Gerv <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.gerv.net\/2012\/07\/more-evidence-for-trusted\/\">wrote a post<\/a> about how he feels the project needs to have a safe place to talk about important items within the Mozillian community. These topics can range from strategic initiatives we&#8217;re <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/blog\/2012\/06\/26\/mozilla-launches-a-speedy-and-powerful-upgrade-to-mobile-browsing-with-firefox-for-android\/\">applying within the community<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.lizardwrangler.com\/2012\/07\/25\/cathy-davidson-joins-mozilla-foundation-board\/\">changes in our board<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.evilbrainjono.net\/blog?permalink=1094\">opinions made from our community<\/a> about the current priorities and implementation of strategies of what we decide upon.<\/p>\n<p>This API will help act as an authorization service for Mozillians to activate greater access to sites, <a href=\"http:\/\/aakash.doesthings.com\/2012\/03\/19\/community-tools-platforms-roadmap-2012\/ \">tools and platforms across the community<\/a>. Accessible to any Vouched Mozillian, it can determine if a certain e-mail address corresponds to a Vouched or Non-Vouched Mozillian. I&#8217;m excited to see what the developers in our community are able to do! <\/p>\n<p>In the future, we <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.mozilla.org\/Mozillians\/Phonebook\/Services\">plan to build more services that proliferate<\/a>, in a privacy-aware manner, Mozillians contributor across sites, tools and platforms and create a much smaller and more involved community.<\/p>\n<p>For questions or feedback on how to use the API, simply ask in our <a href=\"https:\/\/groups.google.com\/group\/mozilla-dev-community-tools\">development forum<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mozilla&#8217;s primary contributor phonebook, has added a way for Mozilla-related sites and services to leverage the directory.
