In this issue, we&#8217;re excited to share opportunities to throw a Maker Party, find your way home and stay safe on the Web.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Make and teach the Web with Maker Party from July 15 to September 15!<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/party.webmaker.org\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px none; float: left; margin-right: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/image.e.mozilla.org\/lib\/fe9915707361037e75\/m\/2\/makerparty_world_illustration.jpg\" alt=\"Maker Party\" \/><\/a>Last year, over 100,000 people in 330 cities participated in <a href=\"https:\/\/party.webmaker.org\">Maker Party,<\/a> Mozilla&#8217;s global campaign to teach the Web. Maker Party unites educators, organizations and enthusiastic Web users with hands-on learning and making.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals and organizations join Maker Party by attending an event in their area or running an event to teach the Web to their friends, family or communities.<\/p>\n<p>Hosting a Maker Party is not only personally rewarding, it also contributes to the greater goal of increasing Web literacy for everyone, everywhere in the world.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/party.webmaker.org\">Want to host a Maker Party in your city?<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/party.webmaker.org\/partners\">Become a Maker Party partner today.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Never get lost with Mozilla&#8217;s new location services program<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/location.services.mozilla.com\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px none; float: right; margin-left: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/image.e.mozilla.org\/lib\/fe9915707361037e75\/m\/2\/location_image.jpg\" alt=\"Location Services\" width=\"150\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Ever wish you could find your way without GPS?<\/p>\n<p>Mozilla&#8217;s experimental new<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/location.services.mozilla.com\/\">location services finder<\/a> will help you establish your location using a crowdsourced map when your GPS is not available.<\/p>\n<p>The project is just starting, so there are plenty of ways for you to get involved!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/irvinfly.makes.org\/thimble\/fsa-quest-mozilla-location-services-en\"> Webmaker Thimble <\/a> to show you how to take the first steps to contribute.<\/li>\n<li>Join the project and get to the <a href=\"https:\/\/location.services.mozilla.com\/leaders\">top of the leaderboard<\/a> by mapping the most wireless networks to help other users.<\/li>\n<li>You can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/location.services.mozilla.com\/map\"> status map <\/a> to find the wireless networks in your area.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pierros.papadeas.gr\/?p=377\"> Read more about the history<\/a> of this project from Mozilla&#8217;s community architect, Pierros Papadeas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>June is Internet Safety Month!<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/security\/2014\/06\/02\/june-is-internet-safety-month\/\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px none; float: left; margin-right: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/image.e.mozilla.org\/lib\/fe9915707361037e75\/m\/2\/safety_month.jpg\" alt=\"Internet Safety Month\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Helping people stay safe on the Web is a crucial part of our <a href=\"https:\/\/mozilla.org\/about\/manifesto\/\"> Manifesto<\/a>.<br \/>\nBy keeping your browser up to date and creating unique and secure passwords for each of your accounts, you&#8217;re already taking steps toward a secure browsing experience.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some ways you can learn more about how to stay safe online and how to join us in helping keep you and your personal information safe:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the Internet&#8217;s safety with <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.mozilla.org\/Privacy\/PriMo\">PriMo,<\/a> the privacy team at Mozilla.<\/li>\n<li>Find out more about Firefox&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/dnt\/\"> setting.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/security\/2014\/06\/02\/june-is-internet-safety-month\/\">Read more <\/a> about how to make life awkward for hackers and share our guide with your family and friends.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Have a happy (and secure) Internet Safety Month!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Featured Contributor: Sujith Reddy<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/meandmozilla.blogspot.com\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px none; float: right; margin-left: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/image.e.mozilla.org\/lib\/fe9915707361037e75\/m\/2\/sujith.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Sujith Reddy, a contributor from Hyderabad, India, is an open Web enthusiast and believes that &#8220;being open is freedom.&#8221; His focus is on evangelizing for developers with Angelhack, the world&#8217;s largest hackathon, but says there are lots of ways to get involved.<\/p>\n<p>Sujith says, &#8220;Because Mozilla is not just a foundation, but a community, I find it interesting to contribute to the organization&#8230; Mozilla provides me an opportunity to talk to the people about the Open Web.&#8221; According to Sujith, Mozilla recognizes its contributors better than any other open source organization.
