{"id":2220,"date":"2015-08-06T13:42:15","date_gmt":"2015-08-06T13:42:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/community\/?p=2220"},"modified":"2015-08-06T13:42:16","modified_gmt":"2015-08-06T13:42:16","slug":"q3-objectives-for-the-participation-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/community\/2015\/08\/06\/q3-objectives-for-the-participation-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Q3 Objectives for the Participation Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After weeks of meetings and planning the Participation Team has decided on six objectives to focus on this quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Each of these objectives was chosen for it&#8217;s ability to bring us closer to our 2015 goal: Demonstrate that participation brings<b> strategic advantage<\/b> to Mozilla\u2019s key product and functional goals.<\/p>\n<p>Here are our six objectives for Q3 and the key results for each:<\/p>\n<h3>1. Firefox OS Ignite Initiative has a great, validated community program design<\/h3>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla\/participation-org\/labels\/Firefox%20OS\" target=\"_blank\">View on GitHub<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>KR1 &#8211; Long-term FirefoxOS community program design<\/li>\n<li>KR2 &#8211; 50 weekly users of updated Foxfooding tools<\/li>\n<li>KR3 &#8211; 100 weekly contributors on \u2018beta\u2019 community collaboration platform<\/li>\n<li>KR4 &#8211; 5 \u201ctest\u201d events for in-person contribution and community building<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2. Mozilla and Firefox brand building efforts in Germany \u00a0boosted by larger and stronger community<\/h3>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla\/participation-org\/labels\/Germany\" target=\"_blank\">View on GitHub<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>KR1 &#8211; Specific areas of contribution and participation measures defined jointly by participation and engagement teams<\/li>\n<li>KR2 &#8211; 10 new community leaders\/organizers recruited and on-boarded<\/li>\n<li>KR3 &#8211; Events with a total of 1,000 attendees for the purpose of growing community and building issue support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>3. Our Indian community is successfully contributing to Fennec with \u201clocal\u201d strategy in mind<\/h3>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla\/participation-org\/labels\/Fennec\" target=\"_blank\">View on GitHub<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>KR1- 25 contributors active and committed on Fennec projects<\/li>\n<li>KR2 &#8211; Articulation of strategic opportunities\/options for bringing local advantage to Fennec<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>4. Systematize support for ReMo and communities of focus<\/h3>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla\/participation-org\/labels\/ReMo%2FRegional\" target=\"_blank\">View on GitHub<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>KR1 &#8211; ReMo + region\/country of focus + partnership performance profile, dashboard and review process is developed and implemented<\/li>\n<li>KR2 &#8211; Medium-term planning process in 3 communities is developed and tested<\/li>\n<li>KR3 &#8211; Coaching methods and process for community leaders is systematized<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>5. Launch the basics of a refreshed leadership development program<\/h3>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla\/participation-org\/labels\/Leadership%20Development\" target=\"_blank\">View on GitHub<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>KR1 &#8211; Basic first iteration of \u201cFoundations of Mozilla\u201d curriculum is developed and tested<\/li>\n<li>KR2 &#8211; Volunteer selection for MozFest, Leadership Summit and Orlando Work Week is strategic and builds trust with volunteer communities, by designing, executing and systematizing a process<\/li>\n<li>KR3 &#8211; Outline and plan for a Leadership Summit to be held in late 2015 or early 2016<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>6. Cross-Mozilla Participation Technology Group is formed and aligned on goals and key questions<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla\/participation-org\/labels\/Technology%20Group\" target=\"_blank\"><em>View on GitHub<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>KR1 &#8211; Participation Technology Group is formed and trust is built through delivering a first draft of user stories and technology options<\/li>\n<li>KR2 &#8211; 7 of 9 Mozillians next and Reps abstraction projects delivered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We work in three week sprints called &#8220;heartbeats&#8221; and you can follow along with each of these projects on <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla\/participation-org\/milestones\/Heartbeat%20-%20August%2021st\" target=\"_blank\">GitHub<\/a> to see what we will be working on for the next three weeks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can&#8217;t find what you&#8217;re looking for?<\/strong> Team members also have individual projects and objectives that aren&#8217;t directly related to these team objectives.
