{"id":922,"date":"2013-04-23T00:56:10","date_gmt":"2013-04-23T00:56:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/community\/?p=922"},"modified":"2013-04-23T01:07:36","modified_gmt":"2013-04-23T01:07:36","slug":"alone-in-a-crowd-asking-for-help-with-your-knowledge-capture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/community\/2013\/04\/23\/alone-in-a-crowd-asking-for-help-with-your-knowledge-capture\/","title":{"rendered":"Alone in a Crowd &#8211;  Asking for help with your Knowledge Capture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>None of us are alone.\u00a0 I know, I know, Duh.\u00a0 We work in a open culture of participation.\u00a0 Chalk full of tribes, crowd sourcing, sharing, and cheering each other on.\u00a0 And then, sometimes we feel alone.<\/p>\n<p>Last week we hosted our second video sprint for the Capture Mozilla project.\u00a0 At the end of the morning, when everyone had a nice little story board done the question was: What&#8217;s next?<\/p>\n<p>Since we only had limited time, our group decided to use the time together to workshop their stories and save shooting for completing over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Story boarding was great.\u00a0 Full of energy, ideas and enthusiasm for sharing the knowledge of the individuals in the group.\u00a0 But when it came to the end, a quiet malaise hovered over the land.\u00a0 Basically, the vibe died.<\/p>\n<p>Why you ask?<\/p>\n<p>Answer: many assumed they had to go off and complete their videos ALONE!\u00a0 Bummer!<\/p>\n<p>No no!\u00a0 Get help.\u00a0 Find someone who can say, &#8220;Sure!\u00a0 I&#8221;ll hold you&#8217;re camera.&#8221; or &#8220;Imovie? Easy!\u00a0 I can help you with that!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Too often we get support and rally the crowd to support our cause, or our vision, but not ourselves.\u00a0 Capture Mozilla is a great opportunity for us to ask for help, personally.<\/p>\n<p>So go out and ask for help sharing with the community what YOU know, and don&#8217;t do it alone.<\/p>\n<p>________________________________________<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/community\/files\/2012\/12\/CaptureMozilla_Pictograph_RGB.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-478\" alt=\"CaptureMozilla_Pictograph_RGB\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/community\/files\/2012\/12\/CaptureMozilla_Pictograph_RGB-160x160.png\" width=\"108\" height=\"108\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A quick note about making and publishing video for Capture Mozilla:\u00a0 Having knowledge to share and having the ability to capture it, often are very separate talents.\u00a0 But, don&#8217;t worry, you don&#8217;t have to be a Hollywood or Bollywood director to make a Capture Mozilla Video.\u00a0 Just capture something using the tools you have.
