{"id":61713,"date":"2009-08-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-08-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/foxtail\/2009\/08\/19\/creativity-service-awesome\/"},"modified":"2021-02-08T20:30:46","modified_gmt":"2021-02-08T20:30:46","slug":"creativity-service-awesome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/en\/mozilla\/creativity-service-awesome\/","title":{"rendered":"Creativity + Service = Awesome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Picture 1925 by musingt, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/29142435@N08\/3837785830\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2642\/3837785830_4afb5fb239_o.png\" alt=\"Picture 1925\" width=\"596\" height=\"286\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you know, we launched the <a href=\"http:\/\/creative.mozilla.org\">Mozilla Creative Collective<\/a> <span id=\"OBJ_PREFIX_DWT701\"><span id=\"OBJ_PREFIX_DWT703\">today<\/span><\/span>! \u00a0To kick things off we&#8217;re hosting a mini design challenge around <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/blog\/2009\/08\/18\/calling-all-volunteers-mozilla-service-week-needs-you\/\">Mozilla Service Week<\/a>. \u00a0We&#8217;re hoping your creativity and artistic skills can help inspire action and ultimately better the Web experience for people and organizations around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some ideas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Craft a flyer, poster or banner (the offline kind!) to get the word out.<\/li>\n<li>Design new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spreadfirefox.com\/affiliates\/homepage?category=54&#038;locale=41#getbuttons\">site badges<\/a>, Twitter backgrounds or blog themes.<\/li>\n<li>Create a new Persona for Mozilla Service Week. \u00a0Check out the \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.getpersonas.com\/persona\/30087\">current one.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Dream up a new t-shirt design for the <a href=\"http:\/\/communitystore.mozilla.org\/\">community store<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Create an avatar for Facebook or other social networks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As inspiration check out The Royal Order&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.theroyalorder.com\/archives\/21\">blog post<\/a> about the design direction of the Mozilla Service Week site. \u00a0In a nutshell:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Mozilla Service Week site aims to be inspirational and make participants feel part of a bigger movement that has the ability to affect change and better the Web for people all the world.<\/li>\n<li>The site strives to reflect the organic, participatory and people-driven nature of the Mozilla project.<\/li>\n<li>We drew from the humanistic style of 1930&#8217;s WPA murals which evoked people working together and helping each other for the sake of the greater good.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You&#8217;re encouraged to use existing Mozilla Service Week elements (such as the logo) to create your own unique interpretation of the &#8220;take action&#8221; theme. In other words, your designs can look entirely different from the other Service Week materials&#8230;it&#8217;s up to you.
