{"id":62841,"date":"2019-03-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-08T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/foxtail\/2019\/03\/08\/international-womens-day-2019\/"},"modified":"2021-01-22T22:53:42","modified_gmt":"2021-01-22T22:53:42","slug":"international-womens-day-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/en\/firefox\/international-womens-day-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Hope for the future this International Women\u2019s Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This International Women\u2019s Day, Firefox is raising awareness against bias, and raising a hand for equality.<\/p>\n<p>We went to women in tech whose work we admire and asked them: <strong>what do you hope for women on the web?<\/strong> Here&#8217;s what they had to say:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AfmVJqiL9y8\" width=\"820\" height=\"462\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>More empowerment, less harassment<\/h2>\n<p>A theme emerged among responses to our prompt that could become a motto for how we achieve the web we want this year and every year after: more empowerment, less harassment.<\/p>\n<p>Mozilla&#8217;s mission from the beginning has been to ensure that the internet is a global public resource, open and accessible to all, and empowerment is certainly a part of what we strive for.
