Creepy! I load up my must-have-open browser tabs for work:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gmail<\/li>\n<li>Google Calendar<\/li>\n<li>Tweetdeck<\/li>\n<li>LinkedIn<\/li>\n<li>Facebook<\/li>\n<li>Xero (business accounts tool)<\/li>\n<li>Spike (Newswhip): One of my favourite social media manager tools<\/li>\n<li>Dataminr: Another of my geeky social media manager tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>10 a.m. \/ Trackers = 90\u2026 Already!<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>My first hour each day is mostly spent checking new emails, scanning the tech and social media news from the past 12 hours offline, then reviewing posts in my Facebook Group &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/socialgeekout\/\">The Social Media Geekout<\/a>\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Replied to three emails in Gmail.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Spotted two interesting stories in my Social Media news dashboard on Spike (Newswhip). I opened both articles to have a quick read and then shared them using Buffer to my Twitter account, LinkedIn profile, and Facebook Group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2019\/10\/14\/tiktok-has-mountain-view-office-near-facebook-poaching-employees.html\">TikTok poaching Facebook staff<\/a> | CNBC.com<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/facebook\/2019\/10\/15\/facebook-is-reportedly-locking-users-out-for-reporting-fake-accounts\/\">Facebook users frustrated about being locked out of their accounts<\/a> | TNW<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tracker update:<\/strong> Around 70 of the 90 trackers blocked so far happened when I visited the two news articles.<\/p>\n<p>Content is not cheap, so publishers be hitting me with a ton of trackers for ad networks, as well as a whole bunch of analytics tools to track what I visit on their site, and how I navigate around the rest of their webpages.<\/p>\n<p>Spotted trackers for publisher analytics tools like Parse.ly and Google Analytics.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2274 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/278\/files\/2019\/11\/tracking-diary-navarra-image6.png\" alt=\"Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox shows the number of trackers blocked daily. I used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightmove.co.uk\/\">Rightmove<\/a>. This appears to be where a ton of the new trackers were blocked. I wonder if I will now see a ton of ads in my Facebook and Twitter news feeds about moving home and related services \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Spotted <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.twitter.com\/marketing\/en_gb\/topics\/best-practices\/2019\/brandstalktwitter-uktv-the-voice-of-the-network.html\">a great article by Twitter Marketing UK<\/a> about the work of the social media team at @UKTV. I also shared the video from TalkSport on all my profiles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Did a search on Twitter for a tweet by @MariSmith about a new Facebook Live clipping feature. I <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattNavarra\/status\/1184053975131312128\">retweeted it<\/a> via twitter.com.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Dropped a short email via gmail to a contact at Pinterest about our sponsorship deal with them for our new podcast \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/anchor.fm\/geekoutmattnavarra\">Geekout with Matt Navarra<\/a>\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oneimagevideo.com\/\">free online video tool<\/a> to create video for a tweet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Checked my Facebook Messenger messages via facebook.com. WTAF<\/h2>\n<p>WTAF! 456 trackers blocked!! That\u2019s a jump of nearly 200 trackers in under an hour of light browsing.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Replied to bunch of emails I have been needing to get to for days (30 mins)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattNavarra\/status\/1184082875412561920\">Posted a tweet<\/a> about a cool new influencer marketing tool called Kindred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2268\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/278\/files\/2019\/11\/tracking-diary-navarra-image4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"395\" height=\"443\" border=\"1\">Responded to a few Facebook Messenger messages from random people I don\u2019t know. Pop-up and banner ad hell!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tracker update: <\/strong>This last hour kept <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/firefox\/privacy\/products\/?utm_source=blog.mozilla.org&amp;utm_campaign=firefox_frontier&amp;utm_medium=referral\">Firefox\u2019s tracker blocker<\/a> busy. <strong>Final count:<\/strong> 1,030 trackers!
