Tab groups have become one of Firefox\u2019s most loved ways to stay organized \u2014 over 18 million people<\/strong> have used the feature since it launched<\/a> earlier this year. Since then, we\u2019ve been listening closely to feedback from the Mozilla Connect<\/a> community to make this long-awaited feature<\/a> even more helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve just concluded a round of highly requested tab groups updates that make it easier than ever to stay focused, organized, and productive. Check out what we\u2019ve been up to, and if you haven\u2019t tried tab groups yet, here\u2019s a helpful starting guide. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preview tab group contents on hover<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Starting in Firefox 145<\/a>, you can peek inside a group without expanding it. Whether you\u2019re checking a stash of tabs set aside for deep research or quickly scanning a group to find the right meeting notes doc, hover previews give you the context you need \u2014 instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep the active tab visible in a collapsed group \u2014 and drag tabs into it<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since Firefox 142, when you collapse a group, the tab you\u2019re working in remains visible. It\u2019s a small but mighty improvement that reduces interruptions. And, starting in Firefox 143, you can drag a tab directly into a collapsed group without expanding it. It\u2019s a quick, intuitive way to stay organized while reducing on-screen clutter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
