Every week, people in the community are throwing events all over the world to celebrate Maker Party. We’ve been showcasing many of those events and the cool things people are making on this blog, but there’s still more to share!

Here’s what happened this past week:
Alkmaar, Netherlands
Last week the OHM Festival brought together 3500 hackers, makers and like-minded activists under one roof. Luckily Laura was on the scene to throw a Maker Party workshop on the Friday focusing on making with Mozilla tools. Read all about Laura’s adventure and view some of the makes here and here.
Toronto, Canada
Girls Learning Code Inventor Camp started Monday and runs through the week. In groups, the girls will work throughout the week on creating a website (using HTML and CSS and Mozilla Thimble) to showcase their new inventions. In addition, each day, the girls will be introduced to a different type of innovative technology. They will be challenged to use it to invent something new! Check out this video of a couple campers learning Makey Makey to combine with their hand-made robots.
Boston, USA
Last weekend was a Maker Party in Boston at MIT’s Media Lab. The event had stations set up were attendees could go to make their own How-To with thimble, bring a radio story to life, learn Scratch, make an app inventor app and more. Brooklyn, USA
The NYC Makery August pop-up started Monday and goes until August 16th. The Makery will be transforming The Brooklyn Brainery into a temporary Makerspace with workshops, talks, and opportunities to meet fellow makers with topics ranging from 3D Scanning Objects in the Real World to Lego Hacking, Aerial Photography, Soft Circuits, and Arduino projects.
