Maker Party events around the world


Mozilla has officially kicked off the 2013 Maker Party, a three-month extravaganza of making and sharing online. Events are organized all over the world by Mozilla, our partner organizations and people just like you. Here’s a sample of some fantastic upcoming events:

French-speaking community meetup

June 21-23: Paris, France

Did you know that more than 200 French speakers from 15 countries are hacking the web in French? Meet them in Paris and help plan future French language events.

IndieWebCamp 2013

June 22-23: Portland, Oregon, USA
Join IndieWebCamp for two days of brainstorming & creating at and be a part of advancing and growing the indie web.

Learning Labs Pop-Up

June 22: New York City, USA

 
Build your own webpage, learn HTML and CSS coding skills, create digital images and videos, design and print a laser cut project and more at the New York Hall of Science.

Hungry To Learn

June 23: Hyderbad, India

Learn Popcorn Maker and supercharge your web videos with Mozilla Webmaker Youth Mentor, Unnati Prema.

Kids Learning Code: Introduction to Ruby

June 22: Toronto, Canada

A day-long, beginner level workshop is for 8- to 13-year-old boys and girls.

Young Rewired State NYC

June 29-30: New York City, USA

A two-day design challenge where teens will level up their coding skills, work with professional programmers and open government data, and build digital prototypes to solve real NYC problems.

#MozParty Hack Jam

June 29: Preston, United Kingdom

A free event for youth, families and teachers.

Byte Camp – Flash Video Game Design

July 15-19: Victoria, Canada

A week-long camp for 11 to 14-year-olds. Students will start the week making short animated films and each day new programming skills will be taught to help them make the animations interactive. The final project is a video game built from scratch that will go online.

MaRS Future Leaders

July 22-26: Toronto, Canada

This entrepreneurship boot camp for students between the ages of 13 and 15 is supported by one-on-one mentors, successful entrepreneurs and dynamic teachers. Participants will invent and test an original business idea and learn skills critical to future success.

Making Learning Connected

June 15-August 4: Worldwide

Join the Massive Open Online Collaboration (or MOOC, as they are known)  to tap into your personal and professional interests, share what you’ve done, learn from other participants and reflect on your own learning and growth. Sponsored by the National Writing Project, this is an excellent event for adults and professionals.
