One week 'til MozFest

There’s only a week left until the kickoff of this year’s MozFest, Mozilla’s annual gathering of passionate thinkers and inventors from around the world who meet up in person to participate in an epic weekend of hands-on hacking, prototyping and building.

We’re working our tails off to get everything ready for the big launch on Friday, October 25. Stickers are being printed, keynote speeches are being written, t-shirts are arriving by the boxful and — not to worry — mountains of fresh coffee beans are being procured.

Over the next several days, Ravensbourne, the wired media campus that is hosting this wonderful event, will be transformed into nine floors of maker labs, breakout rooms, classrooms and quiet corners for one-on-ones.
When the first participants arrive, they’ll be greeted by a sea of smiling faces. We’ve been waiting a year for this day to come, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Everything that happens at MozFest (including individual sessions, which will be announced in the coming days) will be organized under the following 10 tracks:

  • Build and teach the web
  • Look who’s watching
  • Open games
  • Skills & badges
  • Connect your city
  • Science and the web
  • Source code and journalism
  • Make the web physical
  • Webmaking for mobile
  • Open data for the open web

There’ll be plenty of ways for you to get involved with whichever tracks strike your fancy. Visit  mozillafestival.org for more info. We’ll also have some great options for remote participation, for those of you that won’t be joining us in person.
Until then, your best bet is to follow all the action on Twitter. Our official MozFest account is @mozilla and our official hashtag is #mozfest. Stay tuned for more updates!
