MozFest 2015: Open Science Track – Sessions and Schedule

The Mozilla Festival (or “MozFest”) 2015 is almost upon us, and our Open Science track is really shaping up for another great year.

Examine the potential of the open web to re-define how we experiment, analyze and share scientific knowledge. The open web is changing the way scientists explore, experiment and build on one anothers’ research.  Imagine what we can accomplish with collaborative tools, open content and partnerships between science and tech.  Join us in developing resources for open research, trainings around open data and hack on tools in our sprints.

We’ve put together a excellent landing page with lots of information about the event including the schedule, introductions to the session facilitators and tips on what to do and what to bring.

MozFest runs for three days beginning on Friday evening with a ‘Science Fair’, where we demo exciting projects from across the web. Saturday and Sunday are full days of sessions, hacking and good coffee. There is a party on Saturday night, and the festival ends on Sunday evening with a closing demo party, showcasing what we made together.”

This year we have three streams planned for you:

  • Sprints – There are hands-on, participatory sessions. Work through problems, run demos and/or brainstorm with the group
  • Share & Help – Share your progress and help your peers. These are discussions & help sessions.
  • Trainings – Learn new skills and technologies in these interactive trainings.

As well this year we are excited to present “The Open Research Accelerator”. Read all about it here

Head on over to the schedule to see a list of all the sessions.

We’re really impressed & excited for the diverse spectrum of activities, discussions and people that are going to be joining forces in the Open Science track this year – We hope you’ll be able to join us ! Tickets on sale now.
