- Read the Reviewer Comments and Author Responses – in the same place – on an article in eLife entitled “Homo naledi, a new species of the genus Homo from the Dinaledi Chamber, South Africa”.
- Andrew Su put together a short Storify outlining the responses he received to his Twitter request for educational resources to teach bioinformatics.
- Read about “Changes in Data Sharing and Data Reuse Practices and Perceptions among Scientists Worldwide” in an article posted on PLOS One.
- In her blog Erin McKiernan comments on open scholarship and the recent partnership between ARCS and “The Winnower” to “capture and publish research communication success stories that are rooted in open practices” and highlights some of the recent submissions from Jon Tennant, Juan Pablo Alperin and Bastien Greshake.
Meetings & Conferences
- The 6th Couperin OA meeting: open access and open science will take place in Paris (France) – Oct 12-14, 2015. The proposed sessions and where to register are detailed at the Couperin website.
At the Science Lab
- Our monthly Community Call which took place last Thursday showcased a few new takes on scholarly publishing. We heard from Konrad Hinsen who spoke about ReScience – a new journal for replications, Daniel Mietchen / Ross Mounce about Research Ideas and Outcomes Journal and Abby Cabunoc Mayes on the progress of the Contributorship Badges project.
