Lesson development

In these two weeks, 17 pull requests were merged, 3 issues were closed, and 4 issues were opened. In addition to the merges, we had 17 commits made by Greg Wilson, Raniere Silva, Christian Jacobs, and Dan MacLean.

Other news

  • We had our monthly lab meeting last week. If you missed, Greg posted a summary in our blog.
  • A group of Software Carpentry instructors applied to the National Science Foundation program “Improving Undergraduate STEM Education” with a grant proposal built up on the Software Carpentry curriculum. Unfortunately, the proposal has been rejected. You can read about it in this post.

A workshop needs you

  • US and Canada
    • A workshop at workshop at Berkeley in either October or December needs instructors. Another instructor is needed at US Department of Agriculture in Athens, Georgia in September, and several for the New York Academy of Sciences in December.
  • Europe and Africa
    • At least one instructor is needed for a workshop in Kiel in Germany, and several for workshops in Nottingham, Cambridge, and Oxford in the UK.
    • Two instructors needed for a workshop in Cape Town in November.
