What’s happening this week
The reading of the book “Building Better Teachers” is spanning a fruitful discussion on our blog. In addition to the original post by Greg Wilson, two of our instructors, Justin Kitzes and Azalee Bostroem, share this week their views on the issue.
Workshops
- Joshua R. Herr and Joshua L. Adelman, with the help of Erin Crowgey, Reza Hammond, Modupe Adetunji, Liang Sun, and Matthew Ralston, taught a workshop at the University of Delaware.
- Nasser M Abukhdeir, Pawel Pomorski, and Albert O’Connor taught a workshop at the University of Waterloo, in Ontario, Canada.

Lesson development
During this week, an impressive 19 pull requests were merged, 5 issues were closed, and 3 issues were opened. - Lab Meeting is back! It will be held in two sessions, on September 25 and 26, to adapt for time zones and busy schedules. As usual, feel free to propose topic for the meeting.
- Raniere Silva wrote on our blog about the workshops he and Alex Viana taught at the Universidade de São Paulo last week.
- Stanford University has made available online the videos of the bootcamp held there in August.
A workshop needs you
- US and Canada
- Workshops at Yale and the University of Toronto need instructors for coming workshops. Female instructors are needed for a new bootcamp for Women in Science and Engineering, this time at the University of Michigan in January. A workshop in New Orleans needs an instructor in December or January.
- Europe
- Workshop in the UK, at Liverpool and Exeter, need instructors in November and December.
- Africa
- Two instructors needed for a workshop in Cape Town in November.
