This is a classic interception technique. It reveals how mobile apps are &#8216;phoning home&#8217; &#8212; enabling mobile tracking without consent. Daniel from Crowdcrafting connected Public Lab&#8217;s Spectral Workbench API to the Crowdcrafting system.<br \/>\n<em>One thing we&#8217;d like feedback on is<\/em> how to use easy, fun activities that recruit contributors to open science projects. Read more about <a href=\"https:\/\/festival.etherpad.mozilla.org\/journalism-measuring-the-news-tracking-content-and-engagement\">our news measurement session<\/a>.<br \/>\nWe&#8217;d love feedback on things you might like to use this API for &#8212; like personal tracking of media habits, a browser plug-in to help journalists check their copy before publishing, or analysis of newsroom content.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/BXljOamIgAAH9Rh.jpg:large\" width=\"430\" height=\"323\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/mozillafestival.org\/blog\/pass-the-app\/\">Appmaker: Pass the App<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/taliesan\">@taliesan<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/secretrobotron\">@secretrobotron<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nThis project does three things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It lets *anyone* make an app that lets them raise money for their favourite cause.<\/li>\n<li>It lets Webmaker Mentors build apps that tell their personal stories, and lets them ask participants in Maker Parties to support Mozilla with a donation &#8212; collecting the donation right there, on the spot.<\/li>\n<li>And it creates new Appmaker widgets &#8212; like a PayPal widget to collect funds, Twitter widget to broadcast messages, and an OpenBadges widget that lets anyone claim a badge from an AppMaker app.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/fyxppic.png\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.citizencyberscience.net\/wiki\/index.php?title=Projects\">Hacking the Higgs Boson<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/spm.rockz\">SP Mohanty<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>This project helps people learn about particle physics in a game<\/strong>. Learners play a 3D game in which they are the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Muon\">muon<\/a> trying to figure out their decay chain.<br \/>\nWe&#8217;d like feedback on<em> <\/em>interesting level ideas for this game. Right now there is only one level, and were hoping for more.
