Morey<\/a> on Dec 02 and the initiative is growing. Are you ready to <a href=\"https:\/\/opennessinitiative.org\/join-the-initiative\/\">sign up<\/a> and help make open science a reality ? To learn more about the initiative you can read their article <a href=\"http:\/\/opennessinitiative.org\/PRO_Initiative_RSOS.pdf\">&#8220;The Peer Reviewers&#8217; Openness Initiative: Incentivising Open Research Practices through Peer Review&#8221;<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Read a short <a href=\"http:\/\/deevybee.blogspot.co.uk\/2015\/12\/open-code-not-just-data-and-publications.html\">blogpost<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/deevybee\">Dorothy Bishop<\/a> about open data and how twitter can aid scientists, even years later.<\/li>\n<li>Nature Methods published an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/nmeth\/journal\/v12\/n12\/full\/nmeth.3686.html\">editorial<\/a> on &#8220;Reviewing Computational Methods&#8221; and the importance of peer review for these methods and their related software to biological research &#8211; even if this adds additional burden to referees<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/emckiernan13\">Erin C McKiernan<\/a> writes about her project <a href=\"https:\/\/emckiernan.wordpress.com\/2015\/11\/30\/why-open-research\/\">&#8220;Why Open Research?&#8221;<\/a> &#8211; a product of a flash grant from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shuttleworthfoundation.org\/\">Shuttlework Foundation<\/a>.  <a href=\"http:\/\/whyopenresearch.org\/\">Why Open Research?<\/a> is a new educational project built for researchers to learn about open scholarship. All <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/emckiernan\/whyopenresearch\">source files<\/a> for the project are now up on GitHub.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/cos.io\/\">Center for Open Science (COS)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.protocols.io\/\">protocals.io<\/a> announced a collaboration to collectively promote transparency and reproducibility in life sciences research. Read all about it <a href=\"https:\/\/cos.io\/pr\/2015-12-03\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Events &amp; Conferences<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The 15th Annual <a href=\"https:\/\/conference.aau.at\/event\/46\/overview\">STS Conference Graz 2016<\/a> invites interested researchers in the areas of Science, Technology, Society and Sustainability Studies to give presentations. The <a href=\"https:\/\/conference.aau.at\/event\/46\/call-for-abstracts\/\">call for presentation abstracts<\/a> opened on Dec 01 and will be open until Jan 15, 2016.
