Mozilla is seeking researchers eager to advance openness in science and data within their institutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<div id=\"magicdomid5\" class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid6\" class=\"\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/screendoor.dobt.co\/mozilla-science-lab\/mozilla-fellows-for-science\/responses\/new\">Applications are now open<\/a> for our inaugural class of 2015 Mozilla Fellow for Science. Fellows will spend 10 months as community catalysts at their institutions, mentoring the next generation of open data practitioners and researchers and building lasting change in the global open science community. Fellows will receive training and support from Mozilla to hone\u00a0 their skills around open source and data sharing. They will also craft code, curriculum and other learning resources that help their local\u00a0 communities learn open data practices, and teach forward to their\u00a0 peers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid7\" class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid8\" class=\"\">\n<p>The Mozilla Science Lab is a Mozilla Foundation initiative exploring how the open web can improve scientific research and education. We facilitate learning about open source and data sharing, and also work to empower researchers as leaders within their communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid9\" class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid10\" class=\"\">\n<p>This call is open to early-career researchers and students in the US, UK and Canada who are eager to receive training and support to further open research at their institution, with an initial focus on life and natural sciences. Mozilla Fellows receive a stipend as well as certain other supplements\/allowances. Please read carefully through the details below before applying. Fellowship applicants must have buy<\/span><span class=\"author-g-xrrluii868nnytju\">&#8211;<\/span><span class=\"author-p-21003\">in from their supervisors in advance, and include supervisors&#8217; contact information on the application. Advisers will be interviewed separately should applicants move on to the second round, and their support will be a critical consideration for acceptance of fellows.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid26\" class=\"\"><\/div>\n<h2 id=\"magicdomid27\"><span class=\"author-p-21003 b\"><b>Benefits<\/b><\/span><span class=\"author-p-21003\">:<\/span><\/h2>\n<div id=\"magicdomid28\" class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid29\" class=\"\">\n<ul class=\"list-bullet2\">\n<li><span class=\"author-g-xrrluii868nnytju\">A stipend of $60,000 USD, paid in 10 monthly installments.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid30\" class=\"\">\n<ul class=\"list-bullet2\">\n<li><span class=\"author-p-21003\">One-time health insurance supplement for Fellows and their families, ranging from $3,500 for single Fellows to $7,000 for a couple with two or more children.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid31\" class=\"\">\n<ul class=\"list-bullet2\">\n<li><span class=\"author-p-21003\">One-time childcare allotment for families with children of up to $6,000.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid32\" class=\"\">\n<ul class=\"list-bullet2\">\n<li><span class=\"author-p-21003\">Allowance of up to $3,000 toward the purchase of laptop computer<\/span><span class=\"author-g-xrrluii868nnytju\">s<\/span><span class=\"author-p-21003\">, digital cameras, recorders, and computer software; fees for continuing studies or other courses, research fees or payments, to the extent related to the fellowship.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid33\" class=\"\">\n<ul class=\"list-bullet2\">\n<li><span class=\"author-p-21003\">All approved fellowship trips \u2013 domestic and international \u2013 are covered<\/span><span class=\"author-g-xrrluii868nnytju\"> in full<\/span><span class=\"author-p-21003\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid34\" class=\"\"><\/div>\n<h2 id=\"magicdomid35\"><span class=\"author-p-21003 b\"><b>Eligibility Criteria:<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<div id=\"magicdomid36\" class=\"\">\n<p><span class=\"author-p-21003\">Fellows must be:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid38\" class=\"\">\n<ul class=\"list-bullet2\">\n<li><span class=\"author-p-21003\">Currently working at a research institution in the US, UK or Canada.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid39\" class=\"\">\n<ul class=\"list-bullet2\">\n<li><span class=\"author-p-21003\">Currently an early-career researcher (i.e, graduate students, post-docs, research scientists, lecturers)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid40\" class=\"\">\n<ul class=\"list-bullet2\">\n<li><span class=\"author-p-21003\">Specializing in the life sciences or natural sciences.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid41\" class=\"\">\n<ul class=\"list-bullet2\">\n<li><span class=\"author-p-21003\">Able to travel.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"magicdomid42\" class=\"\">\n<ul class=\"list-bullet2\">\n<li><span class=\"author-p-21003\">Supported by their supervisors.
