If you have news or announcements you\u2019d like passed on to the community, be sure to share on Twitter with @mozillascience and @billdoesphysics, or join our <a href=\"https:\/\/mail.mozilla.org\/listinfo\/mozillascience\">mailing list<\/a> and get in touch there.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Blogs &amp; Articles<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/protohedgehog\">Jon Tennant<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rmounce\">Ross Mounce<\/a> released an <a href=\"http:\/\/figshare.com\/articles\/Open_Research_Glossary\/1482094\">Open Research Glossary<\/a>, which curates definitions of terms relevant to open research, and is &#8220;<em>designed to be a resource to inform people about the culture of \u2018open scholarship\u2019.<\/em>&#8221; The contents of the Glossary are culled from the community; the authors ask for help and feedback in keeping the document current.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dr_atchison\">Amy Atchison<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jonathankbull\">Jonathan Bull<\/a> blogged about their recent research indicating that <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.lse.ac.uk\/impactofsocialsciences\/2015\/02\/03\/self-archived-green-oa-higher-citations\/\">&#8216;green open access&#8217; publishing of research led to significantly higher citation rates<\/a> than closed access publishing, and considered the importance of these and similar findings for social sciences in the US as they face limited availability of research funds.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.digital-science.com\/\">Digital Science<\/a> released an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digital-science.com\/blog\/news\/visualising-research-impact\/\">interactive visualization<\/a> of their recent research into the connections and impacts of research conducted at universities in the UK.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/polscireplicate\">Nicole Janz<\/a> considered <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.lse.ac.uk\/impactofsocialsciences\/2015\/07\/03\/data-secrecy-bad-science-or-scientific-misconduct\/?utm_content=buffer5efce&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter.com&amp;utm_campaign=buffer\">whether withholding data should constitute scientific misconduct<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dominicbasulto\">Dominic Basulto<\/a> examined <a href=\"https:\/\/trove.com\/a\/Patents-are-a-terrible-way-to-measure-innovation.bU4rR?nocrawl=1\">the logic of using volume of patent filings<\/a> as a metric for innovation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Meetings &amp; Calls<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Mozilla Science Lab held a live Q &amp; A session on their Science Fellows program, the call for which remains open until August 14.
