Join us to hear more about current projects, find out how you can get involved, and hear from others about their work in and around open research.

The Mozilla Festival, our annual celebration of innovation and the web, is just over a month away. We’re back in London this year from November 6-8, and will be leading a science track chock full of interesting projects to get involved with, trainings and a project accelerator. (Tickets still available here.)

On this month’s call, we’ll hear from some of this year’s session leads and mentors, including Bastian Greshake from OpenSNP, a platform to share your genetic information, as well as Matt Mokary and Stefan Neamtu from the Rochester Institute of Technology, who are working on an open source web dashboard capable of searching multiple code hosting services, such as Zenodo, figshare, and GitHub, for the benefit of the research community. The goal of this dashboard is to demonstrate the usefulness of a new metadata standard by utilizing it for easy and effective software discovery and analysis. (And it’s their senior project!)

Lastly, we’ll meet our 2015 Mozilla Fellows, just announced this week. Come learn more about Joey, Christie, Jason and Richard, who’ll also be at this year’s Festival.

Have an update, blog post or event you’d like to share relevant to open science? Add it to the etherpad (see ‘Non Verbal Updates’, line ~110).
