{"id":3504,"date":"2016-03-23T02:55:57","date_gmt":"2016-03-23T09:55:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mozillascience.org\/?p=3504"},"modified":"2019-02-28T12:40:05","modified_gmt":"2019-02-28T20:40:05","slug":"global-sprint-2016-site-and-project-applications-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/foundation-archive\/mozilla-science\/global-sprint-2016-site-and-project-applications-open\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Sprint 2016: Site and Project Submissions Open!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Join us as we collaborate on projects helping further science on the open web!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re back with our third annual global sprint &#8211; <strong>June 2-3, 2016<\/strong>.<br \/>\nWe could use your help to make this year\u2019s event bigger and better than ever.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve just opened our call for project ideas and site hosts (you\u2019re welcome to sign up for both!):<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project ideas:<\/strong><br \/>\nThis year, we have four tracks you can submit your project to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Tools<\/li>\n<li>Open educational resources<\/li>\n<li>Citizen science<\/li>\n<li>Open data<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Projects must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>further open science,<\/li>\n<li>have ways for sprint participants to get involved and<\/li>\n<li>have someone available to lead the work before and during the sprint<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can browse our growing list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozillascience.org\/global-sprint-2016\">featured projects<\/a> or propose your own by completing the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/mozillafoundation.org\/forms\/d\/16M_SiiJkmrkkSONpgd0ERUHLkr1WF4WWXZJIwvurzIs\/viewform\">project submission form<\/a><\/strong>. Over the next few weeks, we&#8217;ll be working with project leads to help get your ideas ready for contributors at the Global Sprint.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Site hosts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Want to host a sprint site in your city? It could be for 3 people or 30 \u2013 you tell us.<br \/>\nAll you need is to provide a space for people to gather and work, a strong wifi connection, and perhaps some coffee. We\u2019ll help with the rest.
