The campaign unites educators, organizations, and enthusiastic web-users around thousands of community-run events that feature online and offline play and exploration. Last year, there were 1,700 events across 330 cities where people of all ages created\/remixed websites, made stop-motion animation films, built robots, designed games and more. You can learn and see more on the new <a href=\"http:\/\/party.webmaker.org\" target=\"_blank\">Maker Party website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/party.webmaker.org\/img\/makerparty_attendanevent_illustration2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"439\" height=\"219\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Last year, many <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hivenyc.org\" target=\"_blank\">Hive NYC<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/hivetoronto.wpengine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Toronto<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hivechicago.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chicago<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/hivepgh.sproutfund.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pittsburgh<\/a> members took part, and Hives became a big hub of activity within this larger campaign. This year, we&#8217;d love to tell an even more robust story about Hive Learning Networks driving city-wide involvement in this global movement.<\/p>\n<h3>Hive + Maker Party<\/h3>\n<p>A great Maker Party partner is an organization that is sharing information on the campaign or web literacy with relevant communities, or throwing events\/creating resources that teach the web and digital skills. <em>A lot of you are already doing this!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Participating in Maker Party is an opportunity to <strong>amplify your work<\/strong>, and also it&#8217;s a chance for Hive as a network to come together to<strong> achieve greater impact<\/strong>. By hosting and participating in events, Hive members collaborate and learn with colleagues, while providing more opportunities for youth to explore their interests and define new learning pathways.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/lainie.makes.org\/goggles\/lainies-remix-of-late-show-with-david-letterman-top-ten-cbscom\" target=\"_blank\">an X-Ray Goggles remix<\/a> outlining are few more reasons Hive members should get involved!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/party.webmaker.org\/img\/makerparty_partnerspage_photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"530\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Here&#8217;s how you can participate:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1) Become an official <a href=\"https:\/\/makerparty2014.makes.org\/thimble\/MjE0MzAyNzIwMA==\/become-a-2014-maker-party-partner\" target=\"_blank\">Maker Party partner<\/a> <\/strong>\u2013 there are two levels of partnership:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/makerparty2014.makes.org\/thimble\/MTI5ODI2ODE2\/maker-party-event-partner\" target=\"_blank\">Event Partner<\/a>\u2013Host your own event, or create remixable teaching resources for other Maker Party event hosts to share with their learners.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/makerparty2014.makes.org\/thimble\/MjEyNjI0OTk4NA==\/maker-party-promotional-partner\" target=\"_blank\">Promotional Partner<\/a>\u2013Spread the word about the campaign and its mission to increase global web literacy via email\/newsletters\/social media.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2) <a href=\"https:\/\/events.webmaker.org\" target=\"_blank\">Align your existing programs and events<\/a> that feature making and learning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add event details to the <a href=\"https:\/\/events.webmaker.org\" target=\"_blank\">Webmaker event platform<\/a>. If you need help uploading, or even mass uploading, let us know.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3) Facilitate an activity at an upcoming Hive Toronto\u00a0Maker Party<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;re running several events leading up to and during the campaign and are looking for organizations to run hands-on activities (more details to come).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a partner, Mozilla will support your participation every step of the way by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Listing your organization as an official Maker Party Partner<\/li>\n<li>Providing training on Webmaker tools and creating open ed teaching resources<\/li>\n<li>Sharing event guides, media and messaging resources<\/li>\n<li>Sending free swag for your events<\/li>\n<li>Offering promotion across Mozilla channels<\/li>\n<li>Providing regular ways to engage with other partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We encourage every organization\u2013whether Hive member, partner or friend\u2013to consider how you might get involved in this campaign, and we&#8217;re happy to help you find alignments or provide additional support if needed.<\/p>\n<p>If you know for sure that you&#8217;d like to become a Maker Party partner, please email <a href=\"mailto:makerparty@mozilla.org\">makerparty@mozilla.org<\/a>. They&#8217;ll need to know what level of partnership you&#8217;re interested in, and will also need your logo to add to the Maker Party site.
