Here&#8217;s what you can look forward to:<\/strong><br \/>\nStarting June 15, people around the world are going to meet up, make cool stuff and share it all online.<br \/>\nEvents will include everything from workshops and code-a-thons to teen tech bashes and father-daughter hack jams at libraries, community centers, hacker spaces and homes across the globe. Sounds fun, right? It will be!<!--more--><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.webmaker.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Summer-Code-Party-montages-redo.0191.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-8397\" alt=\"Summer Code Party montages -- redo.019\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.webmaker.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Summer-Code-Party-montages-redo.0191-600x137.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"137\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/webmaker.org\/en-US\/hall-of-fame\/\">Last year&#8217;s party<\/a> saw more than 700 events in 80 countries<\/strong>. This year&#8217;s going to be even bigger.<strong> <\/strong><br \/>\nCheck out what a few of our great <strong>Maker Party Partners<\/strong> have planned:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgirlscode.com\/\">Black Girls Code<\/a> will run 10 coding workshops in across Africa and the U.S.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/digitalis.nwp.org\">National Writing Project <\/a> is organizing summer camps to create stories online and at local writing centers.<\/li>\n<li>Intel is hosting a summer camp for girls on app development and robotics.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/media.mit.edu\/\">MIT Media Lab<\/a> is inviting kids to program stories, games and animations.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/diy.org\/\">DIY.org<\/a> will make 250,000 projects with kids<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/makered.org\/\">Maker Education Initiative<\/a> will teach teachers<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.girlscoutsgcnwi.org\/\">Girl Scout<\/a> troops will issue merit badges for digital skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.webmaker.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Summer-Code-Party-montages-redo2.0221.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Summer Code Party montages -- redo2.022\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.webmaker.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Summer-Code-Party-montages-redo2.0221-600x153.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"153\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Everything kicks off June 15 and keeps rolling all summer long.<\/strong> The beauty of a worldwide Maker Party is that it includes hundreds of events and hack jams spread out over many weeks. This way, you can get creative wherever and whenever works for you.<br \/>\nWant to keep it low-key? Why not gather friends and family in your kitchen or living room and learn some new web skills together? Share your work online and <strong>you can participate in the global Maker Party without ever leaving your house!<\/strong><br \/>\nWith only two weeks left till the kickoff, it&#8217;s time for you to think about who you&#8217;re going to invite. Which of your friends would be fun to hack with? Got an aunt who&#8217;s handy with a laptop?
