The videos cover a wide range of topics including learning the Urdu alphabet, basic mathematical concepts and hygiene that teachers can show to the entire class or use privately to assist in lesson planning.<\/p>\n<h3>How You Can Help<\/h3>\n<p>UNESCO is putting out the call for volunteers to remix the videos using <a title=\"Supercharge web video with Popcorn Maker\" href=\"https:\/\/popcorn.webmaker.org\/editor\/\" target=\"_blank\">Popcorn Maker<\/a>. You can help by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>improving the videos by adding in more educational information<\/li>\n<li>making them more fun by adding music, videos, graphics or photos<\/li>\n<li>creating your own Popcorn videos from scratch using dynamic elements from the web<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Popcorn Maker can import content from <a title=\"Youtube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Youtube<\/a>, <a title=\"Soundcloud\" href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Soundcloud<\/a>, <a title=\"Vimeo\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vimeo<\/a>, <a title=\"Google Maps\" href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.ca\/maps?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\">Google Maps<\/a>, <a title=\"Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Flickr<\/a>, <a title=\"Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wikipedia.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia<\/a> and more, so this is a wonderful opportunity to use the best of what the web has to offer to help UNESCO increase its reach and resources.<\/p>\n<h5>Step 1:<\/h5>\n<p>Visit <a title=\"Webmaker\" href=\"https:\/\/webmaker.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Webmaker.org<\/a> and sign up for account (you need to do this to save your work in Popcorn Maker.)<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/stuff.webmaker.org.s3.amazonaws.com\/blog-assets\/unesco_tag_screenshot.png\" width=\"195\" height=\"406\" \/><\/p>\n<h5>Step 2:<\/h5>\n<p>Launch <a title=\"Popcorn Maker\" href=\"https:\/\/popcorn.webmaker.org\/editor\/\" target=\"_blank\">Popcorn Maker <\/a>to start a video from scratch or create a remix.<\/p>\n<h5>Step 3:<\/h5>\n<p>If you are remixing an existing video (such as one from <a title=\"UNESCO videos\" href=\"http:\/\/www.unesco.org\/new\/en\/unesco\/themes\/icts\/m4ed\/teacher-support-and-development\/teacher-development-with-mobile-technologies-projects-in-mexico-nigeria-pakistan-and-senegal\/project-in-pakistan\/content-created\/\" target=\"_blank\">UNESCO<\/a>) load it in Youtube or Vimeo and copy the URL from your address bar. Now, paste the URL you just copied into the Popcorn Maker Media Gallery.<\/p>\n<h5>Step 4:<\/h5>\n<p>Create to your heart&#8217;s content using dynamic web content.<\/p>\n<h5>Step 5:<\/h5>\n<p>Tag your project with the word UNESCOremix so we can find it (see screenshot to the right.)<\/p>\n<h5>Step 6:<\/h5>\n<p>When you&#8217;re done, remember to make your work public by pressing the green &#8216;Save&#8217; button at the top.<br \/>\nUNESCO&#8217;s call for remixes presents a fabulous opportunity to explore how Popcorn Maker can enhance the quality, educational value and entertainment value of web-based video. Here&#8217;s a great project that teaches the English alphabet with photos from Flickr.
