Mozilla Scheduled Downtime – 04/08/2010, 6pm – 11pm PST (0100 – 0600 UTC)

We will have a scheduled maintenance window tonight from 7:00pm to 11:00pm PDT. The following changes will take place:

  • 6:00pm PST (0100 UTC) (Socorro) content push & backend processors changes . We’ll be picking up code updates (bug 556535, full list of changes at will be up and will accept crashes but processing may be slightly delayed. This is in preparation for some larger work this weekend. Duration 3 hours.
  • 9:30pm PST (0530 UTC) load balancer change. We’ll be moving behind the production Cisco ACE/Zeus ZXTM cluster (bug 497394). The is a re-attempt from Tuesday’s window. No downtime is expected.
  • 10:00 PDT (0600 UTC) GeoDNS upgrade. We’ll be adding as an additional nameserver for The is a re-attempt from Tuesday’s window. No downtime expected.

Please let me know if you have any reason why we should not proceed with this planned maintenance. As always, we aim to keep downtime to as little as possible, but unexpected complications can arise causing longer downtime periods than expected. All systems should be operational by the end of the maintenance window.
