Mozilla Labs is back with an all new Design Challenge<\/a>! We’re calling on all data visualization wizards to participate and help the Test Pilot<\/a> & Mozilla Metrics<\/a> teams create visual answers to the question: \u201cHow do people use Firefox?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Background<\/h2>\n

Currently, over 1 million Firefox users from all over the world participate in Test Pilot studies<\/a>. These results are made available under open licenses, with the data being anonymized before release.<\/p>\n

The Competition<\/h2>\n

The ask is to download some of this data and then create compelling visualizations that tell detailed, meaningful and yet easy-to-interpret stories about interesting user activities on Firefox. For example, infographics that investigate general usage patterns, reveal interesting user behavior, or explore browser performance.<\/p>\n

The Data<\/h2>\n

We’ll provide you with two sets of data to download (accessible on 17 November 2010) from studies conducted on Mozilla\u2019s own open data program, Test Pilot, to help your exploration:<\/p>\n

    Judges & Partners<\/h2>\n

    Members from the Mozilla Labs, Test Pilot & Metrics teams will be joined by David Smith from our partner, Revolution Analytics<\/a> – to form an expert judging panel.<\/p>\n

    Prizes<\/h2>\n

    Great visualizations call for recognition for all our participants – so we will be featuring all submissions on the Test Pilot website and Mozilla Metrics blog to highlight your hard work. <\/p>\n

    Besides this there are also some cool prizes up for grabs:<\/p>\n
