We were joined by over 15 fantastic participants who made the day an amazing success!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/toniher\/5800121804\/\" title=\"20110604_085 by toniher, on Flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3429\/5800121804_2ded96ce0f_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" alt=\"20110604_085\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>The Day<\/h2>\n<p>Fueled with caffeine \u2014 we all kicked off bright and early on Saturday, the 4th of June. <\/p>\n<p>After the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.designjams.org\/wiki\/Design_Jam_Barcelona#Topic\">topic<\/a> was announced, the four teams started to talk, brainstorm and research during the morning session.<\/p>\n<p>There were some really interesting proposals and mock-ups by the end of the day such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.designjams.org\/wiki\/Social_Cat\">Social Cat<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.designjams.org\/wiki\/Domi\">Domi<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.designjams.org\/wiki\/Design_Jam_Barcelona#Teams\">other teams<\/a> are presently also updating their outputs on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.designjams.org\/wiki\/Design_Jam_Barcelona#Teams\">Design Jam wiki<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/toniher\/sets\/72157626889245182\/with\/5799226131\/\">Pictures from the day<\/a> were kindly taken by Toni.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/toniher\/5799762806\/\" title=\"20110604_027 by toniher, on Flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2276\/5799762806_234b25f5cd_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" alt=\"20110604_027\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Feedback<\/h2>\n<p>General consensus was that all attendees had a great day of sharing knowledge, prototyping, meeting new people and having fun \u2014 not to mention unearthing a much welcomed new collaborative community.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cUX community not dead in Barcelona. Just atomized and hiding. I&#8217;m on a mission\u201d.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A mixed group of people (UX, Dev, Sysadmins) but with focus on UX and user research, collaborated for more than 6 hours to get done 4 kick-ass prototypes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/toniher\/5799226131\/\" title=\"20110604_040 by toniher, on Flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2545\/5799226131_ec3ddc5231_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" alt=\"20110604_040\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Will We Do It Again?<\/h2>\n<p>Yes, indeed! All participants have expressed interest in a followup Design Jam! Similar to developer \u2018hackdays\u2019 the aim is to get enthusiastic local UX professionals, designers, and developers from both local technology and university sectors together to learn and collaborate with each other while working on a design problem.
