{"id":334,"date":"2009-01-29T11:50:02","date_gmt":"2009-01-29T18:50:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/metrics\/?p=334"},"modified":"2019-09-18T12:07:08","modified_gmt":"2019-09-18T19:07:08","slug":"mozillacom-one-of-the-worlds-fastest-growing-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/metrics\/2009\/01\/29\/mozillacom-one-of-the-worlds-fastest-growing-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"mozilla.com &#8211; one of the world&#8217;s fastest growing sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re excited to be included in comScore&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.techcrunch.com\/2009\/01\/28\/comscore-report-fastest-growing-sites-and-top-ten-advertising-magnets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">latest report<\/a> highlighting the fastest growing web sites.\u00a0 Specifically, they looked at the top 100 properties on the web and reported on the U.S. sites with the most growth in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>A few things to note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our own internal web analytics solution shows that our growth in unique visitors was about 50% in 2008 (close to being in the same ballpark as comScore\u2019s findings).<\/li>\n<li>As highlighted <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/metrics\/2009\/01\/27\/how-do-users-interact-with-mozillacom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">earlier this week<\/a>, the vast majority of visits to mozilla.com are &#8220;product driven&#8221;.\u00a0 Usage of Firefox grew by nearly 60% in 2008, hence we\u2019d expect the traffic at mozilla.com to rise by a similar percentage.<\/li>\n<li>More than 70% of the traffic to our U.S. site comes from outside the U.S.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure how this compares with the other popular U.S. sites, but the degree of Firefox&#8217;s adoption internationally has certainly aided our site growth (we do also have separate Mozilla web sites in <a href=\"http:\/\/mozilla.jp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Japan<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mozillaonline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">China<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mozilla-europe.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Europe<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re excited to be included in comScore&#8217;s latest report highlighting the fastest growing web sites.\u00a0 Specifically, they looked at the top 100 properties on the web and reported on the U.S. sites with the most growth in 2008.
