Below is the plot.  For reference, each crossbar contains the 1st and 3rd quartile, along with the median.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/metrics\/files\/2010\/12\/sessions_extensions.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/metrics\/files\/2010\/12\/sessions_extensions-1024x384.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"sessions_extensions\" width=\"600\" height=\"200\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4668\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A few insights regarding the plot:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Users with more extensions have longer and more varied session times than those with fewer.<\/li>\n<li>Extensions in general do a better job of discriminating user behavior than the number of sessions.<\/li>\n<li>These trends tend to hold over the course of the day, with only minor fluctuations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In our last post we delved into the rudimentary dynamics of the &#8220;browser session,&#8221; defined as a continuous period of user activity in the browser, where successive events are separated by no more than 30 minutes.
