{"id":1610,"date":"2019-06-10T21:21:18","date_gmt":"2019-06-11T05:21:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/netpolicy\/?p=1610"},"modified":"2019-06-10T21:21:18","modified_gmt":"2019-06-11T05:21:18","slug":"its-time-for-the-us-senate-to-save-the-net","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/netpolicy\/2019\/06\/10\/its-time-for-the-us-senate-to-save-the-net\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s time for the US Senate to Save the Net"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the one year anniversary of the Federal Communications Commission&#8217;s repeal of net neutrality, Mozilla is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epiclivestream.com\/\">joining<\/a> millions of people across the internet to once again stand up to protect the open internet.<\/p>\n<p>When the FCC gutted net neutrality protections last year, we filed our <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/blog\/2018\/01\/16\/mozilla-files-suit-fcc-protect-net-neutrality\/\">lawsuit<\/a> because we believed that repeal was unlawful. We also believed taking on the FCC was the right thing to do for the future of the internet and everyone who uses it.<\/p>\n<p>Until the Senate listens to the American people and protects the open Internet, Mozilla v. FCC continues to be net neutrality\u2019s best hope.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s time our Senators do what they were elected to do &#8211; represent their constituents, and pass net neutrality <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/116th-congress\/house-bill\/1644\">legislation<\/a> that has overwhelming support and protects Americans.
