{"id":3244,"date":"2016-08-31T08:11:37","date_gmt":"2016-08-31T15:11:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/press\/?p=3244"},"modified":"2016-08-31T08:11:37","modified_gmt":"2016-08-31T15:11:37","slug":"mozilla-celebrates-berec-guidelines-on-net-neutrality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/press\/2016\/08\/mozilla-celebrates-berec-guidelines-on-net-neutrality\/","title":{"rendered":"Mozilla celebrates BEREC guidelines on Net Neutrality"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><em>Statement from Denelle Dixon-Thayer, Chief Legal and Business Officer at Mozilla:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>After sorting through over half a million submissions, the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) has emerged with a set of clear and comprehensive <a href=\"http:\/\/berec.europa.eu\/eng\/document_register\/subject_matter\/berec\/regulatory_best_practices\/guidelines\/6160-berec-guidelines-on-the-implementation-by-national-regulators-of-european-net-neutrality-rules\">guidelines<\/a> on the implementation of the EU\u2019s Net Neutrality Regulation. Mozilla is thrilled that the EU has cemented a strong standard for net neutrality that will help protect the open internet and have a positive impact on growth, innovation and expression in the EU and around the world.<\/p>\n<p>This victory could not have been achieved without the broad range of organizations and companies that banded together to advocate for strong net neutrality protections. As part of that community it is gratifying to see our efforts \u2013from <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/netpolicy\/2015\/10\/24\/net-neutrality-amendments-and-final-vote-in-the-eu\/\">blog posts<\/a> to official and unofficial <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/netpolicy\/mozilla-comments-on-draft-berec-guidelines-on-implementation-of-eu-net-neutrality-rules\/\">inputs<\/a>, and to <a href=\"https:\/\/savetheinternet.eu\/\">driving public comments to BEREC<\/a>\u2014 pay off.<\/p>\n<p>We must ensure that there is clear, consistent implementation of the Net Neutrality Regulation across Europe.
