{"id":132,"date":"2008-07-18T17:26:07","date_gmt":"2008-07-19T00:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/sumo\/?p=132"},"modified":"2008-07-18T17:26:07","modified_gmt":"2008-07-19T00:26:07","slug":"presenting-the-winning-screencast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/sumo\/2008\/07\/18\/presenting-the-winning-screencast\/","title":{"rendered":"Presenting the Winning Screencast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are proud to present the winning screencast made by the one and only, Cameron Roy:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Article: <a href=\"http:\/\/support.mozilla.com\/en-US\/kb\/How+to+customize+the+toolbar\">How to customize the toolbar<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Screencast: <a href=\"http:\/\/videos.mozilla.org\/screencastcontest\/21%20-%20firefox-customise-toolbar.swf\">Click to view<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>His video won because it best satisfied the four <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spreadfirefox.com\/screencastcontest\/criteria\">judging criteria<\/a>.\u00a0 For one, Cameron showed how to customize the toolbar, which is not the easiest concept to communicate or digest.\u00a0 For many users, it&#8217;s a new concept to change around the position of the buttons that sit in the browser.\u00a0 With his great video, Cameron really demystified how challenging this could have been for an end user.\u00a0 The production quality met our standards with great timing and flow (not too fast, not too slow) and everything fitting well in the screencast.\u00a0 Of course, we would not have chosen him if his video had not covered the concepts completely.\u00a0 Finally, his screencast really matched the information in the article.\u00a0 Users who read this article and view his screencast will have a very detailed explanation with an illustration of just how to rearrange the buttons on the toolbar.<\/p>\n<p>This is exactly the type of screencast we were looking for &#8211; a visual medium to help translate and communicate technical concepts to a wider audience.
