Mike Shaver did a great job of summarizing what happened and why those MS add-ons were temporary blocklisted <a href=\"http:\/\/shaver.off.net\/diary\/2009\/10\/19\/update-on-the-net-framework-assistant-and-windows-presentation-foundation-plugin-blocking-from-this-weekend\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Given the number of people with these add-ons on their system who would be notified by Firefox, we anticipated that users would come to Firefox Support with questions about the blocklist.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-789\" title=\"18-10-2009 12-48-59 AM\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/sumo\/files\/2009\/10\/18-10-2009-12-48-59-AM.png\" alt=\"18-10-2009 12-48-59 AM\" width=\"426\" height=\"305\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/sumo\/files\/2009\/10\/18-10-2009-12-48-59-AM.png 426w, https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/sumo\/files\/2009\/10\/18-10-2009-12-48-59-AM-300x214.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 426px) 100vw, 426px\" \/><br \/>\nIndeed, since October 15th, &#8220;<em>windows presentation foundation<\/em>&#8221; and &#8220;<em>blocklist<\/em>&#8221; are the top recent gaining search terms.<\/p>\n<p>For this issue, we already had an article about the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.mozilla.com\/en-US\/kb\/Add-ons+blocklist\">add-ons blocklist<\/a>, and a mention of the .NET Framework Assistant in an article about <a href=\"https:\/\/support.mozilla.com\/en-US\/kb\/Cannot+uninstall+an+add-on\">uninstalling add-ons<\/a>.
